Hello, my name is Gillian and Rowan Tree Therapies is my complementary therapy practice providing hand, foot, facial reflexology and Zone Face Lift treatments
I am based in the village Crook of Devon which is a few miles from Kinross and Dollar. My treatment room is a tranquil, relaxing environment thanks in part to my semi rural setting.
I have always had an interest in complementary and alternative medicine however I began a career in nursing in 1999. After I graduated from Napier University in Edinburgh, I worked in Neurosurgery, Neuro HDU, General Surgery and laterally, Occupational Health.
After the sudden and unexpected death of my first child in 2014, I decided that nursing was no longer the career for me and after a lot of soul searching, I left the profession in Aug 2014.
I was able to take some time to rebuild after the death of my son and it was during this time that I decided I would like to continue to support people but in a more holistic way.
While researching various therapies to study, I was drawn to reflexology as I knew family members who had received great benefit from having reflexology treatments and saw the improvements it made in their lives.
I began training to be a Clinical Reflexologist with The Complementary Therapy School in Edinburgh and once qualified, opened my reflexology practice, Rowan Tree Therapies, in July 2021.
I absolutely adore my job and have a passion for reflexology and all the benefits it has to offer. I truly believe it can support the human body and mind in a holistic way.
